I wasn't sure how Candace Bushnell would approach young adult material, but I loved meeting young Carrie Bradshaw & SITC fans of any age will too. And the short answer- she nailed it! All the teenage angst without being over dramatic or trite. At times, Carrie's past seems a little too similar to future life (stuck between the reliable and kind boy & the slick uncontrollable boy) but over all I loved seeing how the Carrie I know and love was always herself, only less sure of who that might be. The story is much deeper then just boy drama. My favorite scene was when she gets the chance to speak with her favorite author, long admired by herself & her terminally ill mom. Carrie's expectations of the event don't meet her expectations but it challenges and stays with her until she trumps them all including herself. And in the last pages, I found myself tearing up...Great read! I hope there is a Carrie:the College Years coming.
