I devoured All the Ramona Books, & all of Beverly Cleary's books when I was a young reader & now I love sharing them with my youngest. He is still a little young for Chapter books, but listening to them on CD in the car has been fantastic for him. He especially loved The Mouse & the Motorcycle. I think reading to a child is one of the best ways to help a child learn to use their imagination. When there is no TV to provide the pictures, they listen deeply & create their own pictures.
